As you may have heard, Top Gear (you remember that show, right?), has hired a new presenter to replace that angry man who punches people in the face. And now it needs you. Literally, you. Indeed, the British car show generating more headlines than any other off-air British car show out there needs two more presenters, and it’s holding open tryouts.
Sounds great, but before you think that this could be your Rudy or Invincible moment, consider a few things:
Do you like cars?
Can you drive a stick shift?
Do you hate cyclists?
Are you just the right combination of witty, British, and vaguely flippant?
Does your face work for TV, or are you more of a radio guy (or gal)?
Is it possible for you to refrain from punching people in the face?
Can you talk intelligently over smoke- and or flame-filled sequences during which excessive pull-focus is used to liven up a static vehicle shot?
With the correct answers to these questions, plus a 30-second video clip of yourself, you may be given the chance to sit down in front of the Top Gear crew and given a formal audition.
Just don’t punch anyone in the face. That’s probably the most important thing. Oh, and be British.
