With the official reveal of the Bentley Bentayga coming later this summer, it won’t be long now before the SUV comes in from the cold. Before then, however, we get to watch it out in the cold one more time—undergoing winter testing in Sweden—in pictures and a video released by Bentley.
The Bentayga shown here is mostly undisguised, but the faraway camera angle prevent this teaser from being too revealing. You do get to hear the big SUV’s new 12-cylinder engine in action, and you get a brief glimpse of the interior—or at least of the steering wheel. Which is round.
Bentley describes the new 12-cylinder engine as “high-efficiency”—which is not a characteristic commonly ascribed to 12-cylinder engines. The company also boasts that it will give the Bentayga best-in-class power and torque, enough to make it the world’s fastest SUV. Porsche, however, takes issue with that latter claim.
Like the Continental-series cars, the Bentayga also will offer a turbo V-8, and there are plans for a plug-in hybrid as well. Naturally, there will be a diesel for Europe. Look for the Bentayga to reach Bentley showrooms early next year, priced in the low-$200,000 range. Meanwhile, take a gander of the big B in action.
