So, we don’t quite know where this came from. This Corvette video was apparently uploaded to Chevrolet’s YouTube channel on November 15, 2017, but left unlisted—meaning it doesn’t appear in searches on YouTube, nor is it promoted as “related content.”

But Reddit found it.

The video seems to show a 2019 Corvette ZR1—you know, the 755-horse, 715-lb-ft monster Vette with a 212-mph top speed—accelerating at full throttle at what’s already a very high speed.

And it’s shooting flames.

Not just the little burp of fire you get from some modern supercars on overrun. We’re talking rocket flames. A foot-long stream of blue-white fire blasting out of the Vette’s tailpipes. And it’s sustained through whichever gear the Vette is accelerating through.

That’s pretty damn cool.

We don’t know where the video was shot—although the standard disclaimer says it was on a closed course with a professional driver. Chevy says the ZR1 will do a sub-seven-minute lap time at the Nürburgring. Maybe they caught this during early-morning testing?

We can’t wait to confirm this flame-shooting capability for ourselves.
