What Was New for 2017?
The 2017 Camaro marked the 50th anniversary of the popular pony car. Although Chevy ceased its production from 2003 to 2009, the company commemorated the half-century milestone with a special 50th Anniversary Edition. It featured a uniquely styled grille, 20-inch wheels, exterior stripes, colored brake calipers, and more; the interior had distinct touches, too. A new Redline Edition added black and red emblems and accents. Enthusiasts applauded the return of the 1LE package on V-6 and V-8 models. It included aggressive suspension tuning, bigger front brakes, fatter tires, an electronic limited-slip differential (V-8 only), and more effective aerodynamics. Every Camaro model adopted General Motors’ Teen Driver feature, which allows parents to monitor the driving habits of their progeny. The paint palette also added Arctic Blue Metallic and Krypton Green. Other 2017 additions were illuminated doorsill plates, sport pedals, and Red Day interior spectrum lighting.
