Trims and Options We’d Choose
The Frontier is best suited for work duty and starts at less than $20,000 for the base S trim. Unfortunately, that setup has the lowly four-cylinder and rear-wheel drive. We prefer the more powerful V-6, automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive, which become available on the SV model for $28,585. The Frontier’s crew cab has limited legroom and costs another $1530 as equipped, so sticking with the extended King Cab model makes sense. We’d also add the SV Value Truck package for $1990.
