What’s New for 2018?

The SportWagen has a smattering of exterior and infotainment updates for 2018. The front and rear bumpers and front grille have been lightly revised, LED taillights and daytime running lights are now standard, and there are two new wheel designs, one for SE models and one for the top-of-the-line SEL trim. The touchscreen infotainment systems are redesigned, too, with a 6.5-inch system standard in S models and a new 8.0-inch module in SE and SEL trims. The larger screen also eschews the plastic buttons of the S model in favor of an array of touch-sensitive buttons. Additionally, Volkswagen has made some active safety equipment, including blind-spot monitoring and automated emergency braking, standard in mid-level SE models, while pedestrian detection is standard in the SEL.
