"It's useless to keep a person who has gone mentally bankrupt, in the cabinet. He now gives statements against Pakistan and then utters unpalatable words against Nigeria. He has brought India down in world's eyes," state Congress chief Sukhdeo Bhagat said.
Bhagat said the state Congress is hurt over his objectionable remarks against former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and the party president. Congress spokesman Rajesh Thakur said BJP ministers are masters of provocative remarks. "Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti's 'haramzada' and Sakshi Maharaj's effusive praise for Nathuram Godse are tip of the iceberg," Thakur said.
In Bihar's Hajipur on Wednesday Giriraj Singh had asked if Rajiv Gandhi would have married a Nigerian lady than a white-skinned girl, would Congress party have accepted her leadership?" Later he had mocked Rahul Gandhi absence from political arena and compared it with the missing Malaysian plane.
State leader Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said Singh's remarks are manifestations of the uncultured thought most of BJP leaders are occupied with. Congress women wing burnt Singh's effigy at Albert Ekka Chowk in protest.
"Narendra Modi talks about women empowerment and allows his ministers to make objectionable remarks against women leaders. Its double standard," Congress state women wing chief Abha Sinha said.
