Chhattisgarh Congress condemns Giriraj's remarks on Sonia - Times of India

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Congress has passed a resolution on Thursday condemning Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh's controversial remarks against party president Sonia Gandhi.

Dubbing Giriraj's remarks as "racist" and "anti women", state congress president, Bhupesh Bhagel, said effigies of the BJP leader and the NDA government would be burnt across the state by party workers on Friday to register their protest. Baghel said resolution condemning Giriraj's statements were also passed by all the district units of the Congress.


Giriraj had kicked up a controversy by asking the Congress that whether they would have accepted Sonia Gandhi's leadership had she not been white-skinned. Various leading political leaders across party lines have criticized his remarks.
