Want to unleash an aural assault of 740 V-12 horses on your skull? Watch the fastest, lightest, most bonkers version of Lamborghini’s Aventador absolutely devour the Nürburgring with a lap time that appears to slice under the seven-minute barrier.
Naturally, this isn’t just any Aventador. It’s the Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce, the lightweight, aero-intensive, carbon-fiber-to-the-max screamer with 50 more horses and 110 fewer pounds than the off-the-rack model. Lamborghini will only build 600 of them, priced at a kiss under $500,000—a cool hundred grand dearer than the “regular” version.
But if you want the fastest Lambo at any cost, the extra stacks might be well worth it. Because Lamborghini just posted this in-car video purporting to show the SV attacking the Nürburgring with a scorching lap time of 6:59.73. For reference, that’s more than nine seconds faster than the Nissan GT-R NISMO, and a smidge less than three seconds behind the all-conquering Porsche 918 Spyder. This video is a little bit choppy to watch, but hell, we’d still love it if it was nothing but audio.
Credit the extra horsepower, the lighter curb weight, and the super-sticky Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires that were being tested on the Aventador SV. And, of course, the driver, who as of this writing remains nameless. This feat of wheelmanship qualifies as heroic.
