One compulsion when it comes to Smart’s products seems to be to see how many things can be crammed into it, which leads to folks answering questions like, “How much Suzuki motorcycle engine can we stick in this thing?” Smart itself decided to get in on the action, taking the ’80s minitruck route to glory by jamming a Fortwo with speakers, adding more speakers, then slathering the speakers with speakers, drizzling on a speaker glaze, then dusting with powdered speakers. The result is the Forgigs concept.
The Forgigs features a total of five amplifiers — three to run the tweeters and mids, while two pump the 12-inch subwoofers. A Bluetooth-enabled Mosconi digital signal processor routs the signals via eight channels. Android and iOS devices are supported. 100 meters of cable ties it all together. 108 square feet of alubutyl insulation tunes the cabin for max fidelity. Assuming you care about fidelty when 150 db of sound pressure conspires to buzz-scramble your brain in its container.
But that’s not all! The Forgigs also functions as kind of a wheeled Pignose equipped with disco lighting, allowing musicians to plug into the car and rock faces as will and talent allow. Which is all well and good, but you might also want a Geländewagen to haul the drums in.
