1965 Cadillac DeVille

If you’ve watched the last few episodes of AMC’s hit series, Mad Men, you probably noticed a sharp 1965 Cadillac Coupe DeVille driven by the show’s protagonist, Don Draper. A lookalike of Don’s ’65 is for sale on eBay, and we’re guessing it’s no coincidence.

Like Don’s Coupe DeVille, this Caddy is silver metallic from top to bottom, with no vinyl top. The major difference compared to the TV-show car is the interior: This example has what appears to be a gray-and-black interior, whereas Don’s is blood red.

The DeVille was redesigned for 1965, with creased, arrow-straight sheetmetal that emphasized its miles-long length. The last vestige of tail fins—which reached their peak in ’59—had disappeared at last, planting this Caddy firmly in the 1960s. Under the hood is a 340-hp, 7.0-liter V-8.

In the show, Don ultimately ends up giving away his Caddy. This seller isn’t being quite so generous. At this writing, the bidding has just crested $10,000, with the reserve not met. There’s also a $22,000 buy-it-now option on the car. The description doesn’t provide many details about this car other than claiming that it’s been brought back to factory spec and currently has 83,000 miles on the odometer. What we want to know is: Are the ash trays are full?
