Delhi elections 2015: BJP to shoot 5 questions at Kejriwal every day - Times of India

NEW DELHI: With just over a week remaining for elections, BJP launched an attack on Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday. It will pose five questions to Kejriwal every day till February 5, when campaigning comes to a close. The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by BJP chief Amit Shah and attended by senior party members, including cabinet ministers.

Minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy asked the first five questions on Thursday at a press conference. Rudy said it is important to "expose" Kejriwal in order to demolish his "aam aadmi" image. "He has created an image of a common man. But he is not an aam aadmi. It is important to expose him. From today onwards, BJP will ask him five questions daily. He (Kejriwal) should answer these questions," said Rudy. BJP will attack AAP and Kejriwal strongly in the week ahead. This is against its early strategy to not target the AAP chief directly.

The first questions were about Kejriwal's ideological "U-turns" on issues such as forming a government with Congress' support and accepting 'Z' category security. The five questions are: why did AAP take Congress' support to form a government despite vowing not to do so; why did Kejriwal's government not register any case against former chief minister Sheila Dikshit and place documents against her in the public domain during its 49-day term; why did Kejriwal take 'Z' category security despite promising not to do so; why did AAP ministers use SUVs, which cost Rs 10 lakh-15 lakh, for official work, and why did Kejriwal travel in a private jet against his stated principles?

"He travelled in Metro when he went to take oath (of office). He had said he would never take an official vehicle. Then why did they use SUVs for official work? Kejriwal even goes to Dubai in business class to collect donations," said Rudy. The party also played a video clip of Kejriwal's "U-turns".

Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Ananth Kumar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Radha Mohan Singh, Krishan Pal Gurjar, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay, and state in-charge Prabhat Jha were among those who attended the meeting.
