"The party and interests on whose insistence she (Natarajan) held the conference today are the same BJP and some corporates who coined the term 'Jayanthi tax' sometime back. May be now they have some culpable evidences against her so that she is being pressured to say make all that untrue and opportunistic charges", Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said at a press conference and added that Natarajan's press conferences were timed to divert media focus from BJP's "deepening troubles in Delhi election filed" About Nataran's charge that Rahul Gandhi and his office had continuously persuaded her, by forwarding letters from NGOs and tribal activists, to ensure that no enviorment degradation happened while project licenses were cleared, Singhvi said, "we are proud that Gandhi took interest to uphold what the Congress election manifesto had promised; that interests of poor, tribal and environment would be protected while pursuing development and land acquisition for industry. I Jayanthi acted upon Congress principles of working for the poor why is she now saying such things against Rahul Gandhi.I hope she is not saying that she should have been asked to work according to BJP's interests".
About the government's reported move to probe all decision of environment ministry during UPA regime, Singhvi said, "now the same vested interests will use this excuse to reverse UPA's pro-poor and pro-tribal policies".
About Natarajan saying he did not know why was he removed from ministry, he said, "Jayanthi Natarajan is in minority of one who does not the reasons. The allegations against her were first made by the same party and the corporate which are now her new masyers".
