Trims and Options We’d Choose
A hybrid powertrain is uncommon in this class, but Lexus’s 354-hp setup in the LC500h, which starts at $97,505, lacks the chutzpah that a sexy GT car deserves. Our pick would be the standard LC500 with its 471-hp V-8 ($92,995), to which we’d add the $1400 Sport package (heated and ventilated front sport seats) and upgrade to $2650 21-inch forged aluminum wheels with summer performance tires. Choosing that bundle also tacks on the $1000 Convenience package (blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors) and a $390 Torsen limited-slip differential. We’d round out our build with the All-Weather package’s windshield wiper de-icer and heated steering wheel for $250, along with the $1220 Mark Levinson premium audio system upgrade. But we would pass on other big-ticket items such as a carbon-fiber roof, variable front steering with active rear-wheel steering, and a color head-up display. All told, our car would sticker for a fairly reasonable—for this class of ritzy grand touring cars, at least—$99,905 and include as standard:
