Following in the tire tracks of the updated 2017 Maserati Quattroporte full-size luxury sedan, the mid-size Ghibli sees minor changes for the 2018 model year. Set to be unveiled at today’s Chengdu auto show in Chengdu, China, the 2018 Maserati Ghibli features revised styling consisting of new front- and rear-bumper covers that are said to improve the car’s aerodynamics while also bringing the model’s look in line with that of the rest of Maserati’s lineup.
For now, Maserati only is showing off the 2018 Ghibli as the luxury-oriented GranLusso, although the 2018 Ghibli also will be available in standard and GranSport trims. Specific to the GranLusso are chrome inserts on the front fascia.
From a technology standpoint, Maserati notes that the Ghibli GranLusso will be available with new features such as LED headlights and additional driver-assistance systems. We’d wager a lane-keeping-assist system will be among them, given that today’s car lacks that feature. The 2018 Ghibli will be motivated by the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 found under the hood of the current car.
Look for the Ghibli GranLusso to go on sale in September, along with the rest of the 2018 Ghibli lineup. Pricing has yet to be announced.
