Last spring at the Geneva auto show, Pagani released its $2.5 million Huayra BC (Benny Caiola), an even wilder and more capable version of the ostentatious supercar. This year’s Swiss show will feature another new Huayra variant, a roadster, and a rendering of what it could look like has already leaked.
Pagani has talked about a topless Huayra for most of the decade, and 2017 is the year it finally will become a reality. Its upcoming debut was confirmed a few days ago by a Facebook post that read, “Pagani Automobili would like to wish you an intriguing 2017, just like ours! ;) .” That was accompanied by one of three camouflaged and dimly lit teasers the company has released so far.
The Italians were even nice enough to send out a holiday e-card:
But the most revealing image of the Huayra roadster did not come straight from the source. GTSpirit posted these leaked renderings that show off the rear, the top, and the side of the car. If these shots are accurate, the car appears to have revised bodywork around the rear lamps, a new diffuser, new side skirts, and new wheels, at the very least.
There are no official details about the vehicle just yet, but the car almost certainly will be powered by a variation of the Mercedes-AMG twin-turbo V-12 that is in the coupe, which is just fine with us. It provided quite the experience the last time we tried it out.
