Modi is scheduled to commission the second unit of the 363.3-MW capacity gas-based combine cycle power project at Palatana in south Tripura on Monday.
ONGC Tripura Power Company (OTPC) has set up one of the world's biggest Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in Palatana at the investment of Rs 10,000 crore.
Modi will be flying from Dimapur by an Indian Air Force (IAF) plane.
Tripura governor P B Acharya and chief minister Manik Sarkar will be present at the Agartala Airport to welcome the PM at 1.30 pm on Monday.
He will meet the state council of ministers at the VIP lounge of the airport at 3.30 pm and then meet a delegation of BJP's Tripura unit.
IAF has made arrangements for three choppers to take the PM and members of his entourage from Agartala Airport to Palatana. IAF cargo plane Gajraj has brought a bullet-proof car from Kathmandu to ferry Modi from the Palatana helipad to the rally ground.
Meanwhile, accepting the invitation of her Indian counterpart in the just-concluded SAARC summit in Kathmandu, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent a three-member delegation to Agartala on Sunday to the commissioning programme.
Adviser to the Bangladesh PM for power, energy and minerals, Taufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, and minister of state for power, energy and minerals, Nazrul Hamid, have already arrived in Tripura to attend the event.
