What’s New for 2018?
The 2018 Cherokee is light on updates, but the lineup has been reshuffled with upgraded standard features. The Latitude is now the base trim. Every model has standard 17-inch wheels, roof rails, and high-intensity-discharge (HID) headlights. Latitude models are also available with an all-new Tech Connect package. Along with a distinguished exterior and enhanced interior features, this package utilizes Amazon Alexa voice-recognition software for vehicle functions such as remote stop/start. A new Latitude Plus trim boasts an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and a premium interior with leather surfaces and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The Cherokee Trailhawk and Limited trims now have a standard blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The Trailhawk now has standard dual-zone automatic climate control; all Limited models add a power liftgate. A restyled Cherokee looks to be on the horizon, but the update appears mostly cosmetic.
