A day after polling in the elections, that could make Arvind Kejriwal the chief minister of Delhi within a week, the AAP leader had a relaxed message for his party colleagues and workers: Just chill.

The party held an “informal meeting” of its leadership on Sunday afternoon before nearly 50 people, including leaders like Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas and their families, as well as a core group volunteers, left to watch the film “Baby” in a Kaushambi mall.

Earlier, Kejriwal had tweeted, “Volunteers. U did an amazing job. Relax for 2 days. Spend wid ur family. Sleep. Watch movies. Meditate. Chill. God bless u.”

With a big media posse waiting outside, leaders from the AAP arrived at Kejriwal’s Kaushambi residence at 3 pm for the meeting. “We discussed the elections. It was not a serious discussion, but we spoke of the road ahead. We feel that the exit polls match the party’s own assessment. But toady is a day to unwind. So we decided to watch a film,” Vishwas said.

Leaders within the party said they “did not want to jump the gun”, and while they were confident of a majority on counting day on February 10, they did not want to make any public announcements before that.

“The question on strategy and plans will only apply after the votes are polled, and right now we do not want to say anything,” a senior leader said.

Members of the party admitted that arrangements were being made for counting day at the party’s East Patel Nagar office.

“Physical work will begin tomorrow. But since we no longer have the Hanuman Road office and the East Patel Nagar office is in a congested area, we are making plans in advance. Big screens and a media enclosure will be set up and leaders will all be present on Tuesday. Some volunteers, however, have been put on shifts to keep vigil where EVM’s have been kept. They have been put on 8-hour shifts,” a volunteer said.
