Kejriwal unwinds with family, friends - The Hindu

After a hectic election campaign that kept them on their toes for nearly two months and the optimism generated by the exit polls, Sunday was the day Aam Aadmi Party leaders and volunteers spent to relax.

And the “go-ahead” came from none other than party convener, Arvind Kejriwal, who advised his cadre to “chill” through a tweet.

“Volunteers. U did an amazing job. Relax for 2 days. Spend wid ur family. Sleep. Watch movies. Meditate. Chill. God bless u,” tweeted Mr. Kejriwal.

And leading by example, he himself spent the day relaxing and watching movies. Mr. Kejriwal along with his family watched the Akshay Kumar-starrer Hindi film Baby. He was accompanied by party leaders Sanjay Singh, Kumar Vishwas and Manish Sisodia as well as a few volunteers. A picture of Mr. Kejriwal sitting inside the cinema with Patparganj AAP candidate and former Minister Mr. Sisodia, and poet-turned-politician Mr. Vishwas was shared by Mr. Kejriwal on his official Facebook page.

Captioned “Just watched a movie with Manish, Kumar Vishwas and many other friends and volunteers,” the picture was clicked at Wave Cinemas in Ghaaziabad’s Kaushambi where the former Delhi Chief Minister watched one of the afternoon shows.

The first half of the day was mostly spent at home with Mr. Kejriwal spending time with his family.

He had an informal meeting with some of the party leaders in the morning where the strategy post-results, widely predicted to be a favourable one, was discussed, said sources.

PTI adds:

At a different corner of the city, BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi was on complete “voice rest” after she performed the morning rituals of worshipping the ’sun god’.

“Good morning Delhi. Every day is a new day... Only thing constant and predictable in the Sun Rise...,” Ms. Bedi tweeted.

As the day progressed, however, both the chief ministerial candidates went into a huddle with the leaders of their respective parties.

Many senior AAP leaders went over to Mr. Kejriwal’s residence for a “preparatory” meeting around 2.30 p.m.

“It was a preparatory meeting. The party took stock of the situation and weighed all the possibilities that may emerge after the verdict on February 10,” a senior leader said.

On the other hand, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited Ms. Bedi at her residence at Uday Park.
