After poll show, it's Baby time for AAP chief and members - Times of India

NEW DELHI: Taking a break from political warfare, Aam Aadmi Party volunteers and members settled for some Bollywood style action on Sunday. A day after polling ended in the capital, around 40-50 volunteers and senior members of the party, including convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas and Ashutosh, saw the movie Baby in a cinema hall close to the party chief's Kaushambi home.

"People were fatigued and dying to have some fun. The film show was organized so that we could relax before the results are announced on Tuesday. After that the party will be neck deep in work," said an enthusiastic volunteer who is confident of AAP's victory in Delhi assembly elections.

In the morning, Kejriwal reached out to his volunteers via Twitter, saying: "Volunteers. You did an amazing job. Relax for two days. Spend with your family. Sleep. Watch movies. Meditate. Chill. God bless you."

Kejriwal, who decided to take a break from public life since Saturday evening, spent the first part of Sunday at home and then attended meetings at the party's office in Kaushambi.

After the 3.45pm movie show, he returned home and spent time with family, friends and colleagues.

The party also deputed several volunteers to keep vigil outside locations where electronic voting machines are stored. "We suspect that attempts will be made to tamper with them and, hence, have posted party workers outside these locations to report any such incident," said a party member.

The AAP chief's schedule for Monday is likely to be the same. Sources laughingly commented that he was not scheduled to watch a film on Monday and would be home all day. "He is obsessed with watching films so if there was another one worth watching in the hall he would have definitely gone," said a source.

On Monday, senior party members will meet again to discuss the party's strategy post Tuesday.

"Kejriwal has been campaigning non-stop since the past two months and needs some much-needed rest. Party work cannot be ignored so that could not be put off, but he is not meeting people," said a source.

On Tuesday, when counting will take place, Kejriwal will be watching the results at the party's Patel Nagar headquarters will colleagues.
