Nearly everything in life is cheaper if you buy it in bulk or in a package, rather than pick and choose  items individually. That philosophy ranges from paper products or pots and pans at Costco all the way up to McLarens. The automaker’s 570S Design Editions take the guesswork out of choosing colors and trim for the six-figure supercars by presenting predetermined blends of exterior and interior hues that go together seamlessly. It’s like HGTV for your ride.

The car in these photos is Design Edition 1, the first example of five different package deals available from By McLaren, the company’s customization division. Design Edition 1 features a Vermillion Red paint job, “diamond cut” five-spoke wheels, red brake calipers, and a Stealth Black exhaust. The Sin City–like interior has Apex Red nappa leather and Carbon Black Alcantara seats, Jet Black nappa leather on the upper dash, Apex Red nappa leather on the lower dash and door accent panels, Slate Grey contrast stitching, and a matching two-tone steering wheel.

The stylists for these cars were sourced from within: Each combination was assembled by the same McLaren designers who crafted the Sport Series cars. McLaren didn’t release images of the other examples, but buyers can order Design Editions that center around Onyx Black, Storm Grey, Ventura Orange, or Silica White, all of which can be seen in the online configurator.

Each Design Edition package costs an additional £8,500, or $10,556 by today’s conversion rate. That’s cheaper than ordering each of the included options individually. For example, the Vermillion Red paint lists at $4150. The five-spoke wheels with the diamond finish cost $4200 alone, the red calipers would add another $1060, and the interior trim costs $2990. That’s $12,400 right there.

Of course, those who are purchasing cars that cost around $200,000 likely aren’t going to be too keen on having the same looks as the next person, so McLaren makes sure to point out that further individualization is certainly an extra choice. May we suggest carbon-fiber everything?

These packages are restricted to the 570S for now, and deliveries will begin next year.
