Is a holiday season really even a holiday season if Neiman Marcus doesn’t offer up extravagant gifts that the average person could never afford? Considering it’s been happening since 1939, probably not. Every year the retailer pulls together wildly grandiose exclusive items and over-the-top experiences and puts them into its Christmas Book. Last year’s automotive extravagance was a $95,000 Ford Mustang. This year the Christmas Book features a special version of the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400.
Limited to only 50 examples, the Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Q60 costs $63,000, and surprisingly, that’s not overpriced. Yes, it’s almost $11,000 more expensive than the base Red Sport 400’s $52,205 starting cost, but if you were to choose all the options included with this car, you could cross the $65,000 mark. So, technically, the Limited Edition is cheaper.
The most notable exclusive feature is the golden Solar Mica paint job, which strikes us as more Pierce Brosnan than Kit Harrington. The gold exterior contrasts against a Gallery White leather interior with silver accents. Additionally, the NM Q60 comes with a matching Officine Autodromo white leather weekender bag , a Neiman Marcus–branded satin-and-cashmere indoor car cover, a letter of authenticity, and of course, the right to say, “Oh, you don’t have one like this.” But that’s as far as its uniqueness goes.
Of course, the Red Sport 400 coupe already comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that makes 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. This Neiman Marcus model is the rear-wheel-drive version rather than the optional all-wheel-drive model. It also comes with Direct Adaptive Steering, the company’s drive-by-wire system that allows the driver to tailor the steering effort to his or her liking, and an adaptive suspension that reacts to road conditions and firms up the dampers with Sport and Sport+ modes.
There’s also an altruistic element: Neiman Marcus will donate $1000 to the Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation, which gives money to arts programs that are local to its stores, for each Q60 purchased.
If a golden Infiniti doesn’t do it for you, other gifts on this year’s Neiman Marcus fantasy gift list include His and Hers Neiman Marcus Island Cars with a summery Lilly Pulitzer theme (Fiat Jolly–style EVs) for $65,000 each; a one-day quarterback camp with Joe Montana, also priced at $65,000; a VIP Grammy Awards experience for $500,000; and a rose gold Cobalt Valkyrie-X private jet for $1.5 million.
