Nissan Rogue Star Wars Rogue One

Nissan has decided to team up with the Star Wars franchise to market the updated 2017 Nissan Rogue alongside the new film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It’s Rogue on Rogue One action, and it all comes together in Nissan’s latest ad campaign for the compact crossover.

Unveiled in September, the refreshed Nissan Rogue gets an updated mug that incorporates the brand’s V-motion grille design. Minor changes to the rear end and new chrome garnish on the bottom of the doors also were adopted. While looks are subjective, it’s fair to say that the Rogue is more Han Solo than Jabba the Hutt.

More noteworthy is the addition of the Rogue hybrid, which complements the standard gasoline-powered model. The Rogue hybrid relies on both a 2.0-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine and an electric motor for motion. The resulting powertrain puts out a combined 176 horsepower and is expected to earn fuel-economy ratings of 33 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.



The Nissan Rogue is on sale now, with the hybrid due by the end of the year—let’s hope it’s before Rogue One hits theaters on December 16. Watch the clip below:
