We already knew the 2017 Ford GT would use an active rear spoiler, and while we could guess at how it would function based on Ford’s description and the needs of a supercar like this, we haven’t yet seen it deploy in real life. And then this Forza Motorsport 6 video comes along. Since Forza builds its in-game models by meticulously detailing their real-life counterparts, down to small functional details like the behavior of the rear wing, assume this is an exacting preview of how the real GT’s wing will function.

Not familiar with the roadgoing 2017 GT? Here’s a refresher: a carbon-fiber monocoque will support aluminum subframes, and power will come from a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 making well north of 600 horsepower and roughly 500 lb-ft of torque. It’s meant to homologate a competition version that will run at Le Mans next year in the GTE class. Now enjoy the clip:
