2015 Ford Focus 1.0L EcoBoost

Ford is recalling 433,000 2015 Focus, Escape, and C-Max vehicles to replace faulty body control modules, which can prevent the engine from turning off in response to the ignition switch.

The recall affects cars with the conventional, keyed ignition switch as well as those with the keyless, pushbutton version. The production dates of the affected vehicles are: Focus models built at the Wayne, Michigan assembly plant from June 17, 2014 to June 12, 2015; C-Max minivans built in the same factory between April 22, 2014 and June 12, 2015; and Escape SUVs built in Louisville from April 1, 2014 to June 12, 2015.

Dealers will replace the body control modules.

This makes the second recall in less than a month for the Escape, which was recalled in June because its instrument cluster might not work.
