The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is expected to hit dealerships in the next couple of weeks, and we now know the price of entry for the brand’s redesigned SUV. Hyundai has announced that the base, front-wheel-drive Tucson SE will start at $23,595.
Stepping up to the Tucson Eco, with its more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.6-liter turbo four, adds another $1450 to the price, bringing it to $25,045. Next up is the Tucson Sport at $27,045, while the leather-lined Limited costs $30,795. All-wheel drive is available on all models, for an additional $1400.
We also have learned the official EPA fuel economy figures for all 2016 Tucson models. The front-drive SE, powered by the base 2.0-liter engine, is rated at 23 city/31 highway mpg, with the all-wheel-drive version performing significantly worse at 21/26 mpg. The more efficient 1.6-liter turbo in the Tucson Sport and Limited models is good for 25/30 mpg in front-drive form, or 24/28 with all-wheel drive. And in Eco guise, the Tucson achieves an impressive 26/33 mpg as a front-driver or 25/31 mpg with AWD.
With those numbers now out, the only thing left to learn is how the bigger, better-looking, better-equipped Tucson actually drives. That news we’ll be bringing you in the coming days.
