Astrology No. 1 science in the world, says BJP MP - India Today

BJP MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Do you believe a sage conducted a nuclear test in India in 2nd century BC? One BJP MP and a former chief minister of Uttarakhand staunchly believes so and even put this on record in the Lok Sabha.

"Today we are talking about nuclear tests. Lakhs of years ago, Sage Kanad had conducted a nuclear test," Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said in Parliament on Wednesday, according to a report in The Indian Express.

'Knowledge to transplant severed head existed only in India'

The Haridwar MP said this while participating in a debate. He went further, defending a statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on plastic surgery in ancient India.

"People are raising questions on Modi-ji's comments on Ganesha's surgery. It was actually a surgery. The science available to us is not available elsewhere in the world… science or knowledge to transplant a severed head existed only in India," Pokhriyal said in Parliament.

'Astrology is number one science'

The MP, seeming to be a staunch believer in astrology, said "Jyotish" (astrology) is the "science of making calculations lakhs of years in advance."

"All other sciences have been dwarfed by our ancient astrologers. Astrology is the number one science for the entire world. We should promote the science… I want to say that astrology is the topmost science in the world," he said.
