The second-generation Honda Ridgeline pickup, our 10Best-winning mid-size pickup, is entering its second model year with only a modicum of changes. Honda has simplified the 2018 Ridgeline lineup (Ridgelineup?) with fewer trim levels, added new color choices, and increased the price by $150 to $155.
The least expensive Ridgeline remains the RT, which now starts at $30,570 with front-wheel drive. Honda has gotten rid of the all-wheel-drive option for the RT, and also eliminated the one-step-up RTS trim level. So, to get all-wheel drive on the 2018 Ridgeline, you now have to pony up for the $34,110 Sport model and add the $1900 AWD option. While the Sport previously took a page from the Ford Model T’s book by being available in any color as long as it’s black, Honda now offers the Ridgeline Sport in two additional greyscale hues: White Diamond Pearl and Lunar Silver Metallic.
Other than the slight price increases, the Ridgeline’s other trim levels—RTL, RTL-T, RTL-E, and Black Edition—stay the same for the new model year. The fully loaded RTL-E and Black Edition models remain AWD-only, and now cost $42,560 and $44,060, respectively. According to Honda, all these mildly updated 2018 Ridgelines start reaching dealerships tomorrow.
