Fridays are great, but Fridays accompanied by good news are even better. Ford has a handle on the concept, having just announced that the very first salable 2017 Focus RS hot hatch has been assembled in Saarlouis, Germany. The 350-hp, all-wheel-drive rocket is now so close to your local dealership, you can almost taste its drift mode.
If you’re wondering just how close the Focus RS is to U.S. shores, it goes on sale this spring. We’re just as excited as many of you; having been tantalized by a ride-along in an RS prototype late last year, and we’re eager to bring you a full first drive review soon. As if anyone needed more amping up over the RS, here’s a clip from Ford Europe showing the hatch being thrashed across some mountain roads:
