A CISF personnel was wounded in Tral and a constable was singed in Sunday's attacks, with the top Army officer in Jammu & Kashmir, Lt General Subrata Saha, saying the militants were still looking to hit civilian targets to create fear ahead of the third phase of polling on Tuesday.

"The multiple terror attacks in the Kashmir valley were conceived in Pakistan. We've seen that Pakistan is supporting terrorists to infiltrate into this side," Lt Gen Saha said.
"Uri wasn't a routine infiltration," he said. "The sequence in which the events happened, and if you see the levels of training that went in to prepare these people, it wasn't ordinary infiltration. It was linked to the larger events taking place here," Lt Gen Saha said, referring to elections and Modi's visit to Srinagar today.
Lt Gen Saha, who is general officer commanding of the Army's 15 Corps, said the GPS recovered from the eliminated terrorists showed their staging area — a place where troops and equipment in transit are assembled - north of Jhelum on the Pakistan side of the LoC.

"One infiltration took place in Tut Mari Gali (Nowgam) and one in Uri. I am not revealing the exact location (of the staging area) for obvious reasons," Lt Gen Saha told reporters.
"The militants crossed the Jhelum running in a gorge between two mountains. They must've easily crossed the river because Jhelum is flowing low," the officer said.
Intelligence sources said maps with the fidayeen showed the Army camp — 32 Field regiment — encircled with red sketch pen and the route to it clearly lined.

They had taken a religious course called Daura-e-Sufa for 21 days and combat course for another 21 days, they said.
Before infiltrating, the fidayeen took an advanced combat training for three months called Daura-e-Khaas at Muridke near Lahore, the intelligence sources added.
Commenting on the PM's Srinagar visit on Monday, Gen Saha said a security grid was in place and there is proper coordination among the all security agencies.
A thick security cover has been thrown around the city for Modi's election rally in Srinagar with several choppers deployed for surveillance over the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, the venue of the event, and adjoining areas.
Concertina wires have been laid at several intersections in Srinagar's Dalgate, Sonawar, Gupkar Road and TRC Crossing to block the movement of vehicles and people towards the stadium. Cops and CRPF personnel are at each intersection to ensure that the security drill is followed to the last detail, an officer said.
In other parts of the city, motor vehicle checking points have been established by security forces for checking the vehicles moving around. The intelligence agencies and police have been directed to keep an eye on suspicious persons, the officer said.
