Jalpaiguri: Government of India seems to remain unmoved with the kind of atrocities, the women are facing nowadays. As per reports a 16-year-old class 10 student in West Bengal was supposedly asked to lick spit by the woman councilor of TMC who leads the kangaroo court of her village. After the teenager refused to do so, a day after her naked body was found near the railway tracks Dhupguri in Jalpaiguri district.

As of now, family members of the victim have filed an FIR against the accused. They have alleged rape and murder in the complaint and have thereby named 13 people. The police have taken three of them into custody and are thereby interrogating them.

As per reports, the girl’s father had some dispute over the power tiller he had rented and the girl had thereby approached the self-appointed court to get the dispute sorted out. However, after the girl complaint about the same, she was ordered by the woman councilor to lick spit, when she refused to do so, the villagers started thrashing her father and when she tried to stop them, they began beating her too.

To save herself, she vanished from the site and a day after, she was found dead and naked near the tracks.

Localiite, Ganesh Prasad, who found her body said, "At 8.15 am I saw a dead body. I have not seen anything this like before. If bodies come under the train, they are in pieces but with clothes on. In this case, only the shoulder was covered by a cloth."

The villagers had stated that because she was harassed by them, she committed suicide. However, retaliating to their statement, uncle of the victim said, "My brother-in-law was beaten up and my niece protested. They threatened her. If she committed suicide, why was she without clothes? I think they raped and then killed her."

Protesting against the act of the ruling TMC, their rival CPM have called for protests across the state.
