Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said Saturday that Pakistan should stop making Kashmir a parachute of politics and instead concentrate on resolving their internal conflicts and issues.
"Pakistan should stop making Kashmir a parachute of politics. It is the only country where there is blood on the streets, and bomb blasts every second day, and it is in their interest that they concentrate on their internal problems," said Naqvi.
In his address to the UNGA yesterday, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had raised the issue of Kashmir and urged the international community to resolve this issue. Sharif also expressed his disappointment over the cancellation of the Foreign Secretary-level talks between the two nations.
In response to this, the MEA had replied that India will give a befitting reply to Islamabad on the floor of the UN.
MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin also made it clear that there is no meeting planned between Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the UNGA.
India had cancelled the Foreign Secretary-level talks between the two countries last month after Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit held talks with Kashmiri separatist leaders in New Delhi.
