Majority of the ministers of the Jayalalithaa ministry and MLAs had been in Bangalore since yesterday to know the outcome of the special court verdict.
"All MLAs have been told to be in Chennai," said a senior leader.

Finance minister O Panneerselvam, who enjoys the confidence of Jayalalithaa and who served as chief minister for six months when Jayalaithaa stepped down after she was sentenced to jail in the Tansi case in 2001, is one of the probable candidates for the chief minister's post.
Ministers V Senthil Balaji, RB Udayakumar and Rajya Sabha MP Navaneetha Krishnan are also in the race for the chief minister post.
Meanwhile, former chief secretary and government advisor Sheela K Balakrishnan, bureaucrats KN Venkatramanan and Ramalingam left for Bangalore to hold discussions with Jayalalithaa at the Parappana Agrahara prison.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that ministers O Panneerselvam, R Vaithialingam and Edappadi K Palanisamy called on Jayalalithaa at the prison and left for Chennai.

Jayalalithaa's close associate N Sasikala, her relatives V N Sudhakaran and Ilavarasi, who are the other accused in the case were also given four-year prison term and slapped a fine of Rs 10 crore each.
Meanwhile, AIADMK cadres, with their mouths covered with black bands, thronged the MGR Memorial near Anna Square here to protest against the court's verdict against the party supremo.
DMDK leader Vijayakanth, along with party MLAs, met governor K Rosaiah and submitted a memorandum alleging that the law and order situation in the state had deteriorated after the verdict against Jayalalithaa. "I requested the governor to protect public properties and opposition parties. He assured us that he would necessary action," the actor told reporters.
