Additionally, the updated Optima employs Kia’s latest UVO infotainment software, and there’s some minor reshuffling of equipment among trim levels. Base LX models are now strictly powered by the brand’s naturally aspirated 2.4-liter inline-four, which continues to mate to a six-speed automatic transmission. The LX’s previously optional 178-hp turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four is now exclusive to—and standard on—the EX trim. Equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the Optima EX also comes with newly standard features such as adaptive cruise control and LED fog lights, while a heated steering wheel is added to the options menu. </span>
