With the Power Wagon and the Rebel leading the way, Ram’s pickup lineup has numerous ways to make its trucks look and/or drive a little differently than their brethren.  The Ram 2500 and 3500 with the Heavy Duty Night package are the newest, launching at the Chicago auto show.

Ram launched a Night package on the half-ton 1500 last year. Then it let loose the Lone Star Silver Edition, the Rebel Mojave Sand, the Ignition Orange Sport, and the Rebel Black, all for the 1500. But it’s not fair to favor one child over the others, so Ram is adding the Heavy Duty Night package for its Ram three-quarter-ton and one-ton pickups.

The Night special editions build on the Ram’s Sport appearance package, which includes 20-inch black-painted wheels, blacked-out badging, black headlight bezels, a black wheel-center hub, body-color door handles, and painted bumpers. The Night model adds body-color wheel flares, a black grille surround, a Power Wagon–style tailgate labeled with the word “Ram,” white-letter off-road tires, 10-way heated cloth bucket seats, power-adjustable pedals, dual-zone climate control, and optional black running boards. The mechanicals are unchanged.

Oddly, the Night package can be ordered in four body colors in addition to the expected Brilliant Black Crystal: Silver Metallic, Bright White, Delmonico Red Pearl, and Granite Crystal Metallic. The package is available on rear- or four-wheel-drive Ram 2500 crew-cab models and rear-wheel-drive Ram 3500 crew-cab models. Available engines are the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, the 6.4-liter Hemi V-8, and the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel. Prices for the Heavy Duty Night begin at $46,840.
