2010 Mercury Milan Premier

Ford is recalling 1,896,443 cars as part of an expanded Takata recall to replace defective passenger-side frontal airbag inflators.

Affected models include the 2005–2011 Mustang; 2006–2011 Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln MKZ, and Lincoln Zephyr; 2007–2010 Edge and Lincoln MKX; and the 2007–2011 Ranger. The 608,717 Mustang models in this recall were previously recalled to replace the driver’s-side airbag inflator. Additional Mustang and Ranger models were also previously recalled (see the updated list here). In total, Ford has recalled 2.8 million cars in the U.S. for the shrapnel-shooting airbags.

Ford’s recall follows recent Takata recall expansions by Ferrari, Fiat-Chrysler, Honda, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, and Subaru. Parts availability is limited (see more details here). Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln owners can search their VIN now to find out if their cars are affected.
