At first there were three, now there are 18—that’s the total number of Porsches (and Volkswagens) Jerry Seinfeld has consigned to the Gooding & Company auction at Amelia Island next month. Besides releasing the full list of cars the actor, comedian, and noted Porsche-head plans to part with, Gooding & Co. also shared photos of the cars. As you’d expect, the list is rich with phenomenal, notable Porsches.
Joining the the 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, 1958 Porsche 356A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster, and 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR previously outlined are gems such as a Carrera GT supercar prototype, a 1958 Porsche 597 Jagdwagen military off-road vehicle, and a 1973 917/30 Can-Am Spyder race car.
If anyone paid attention to the recent Barrett-Jackson auctions in Scottsdale, Arizona, even old VWs are swelling in value, which bodes well for Seinfeld’s 1964 Volkswagen camper van. Indeed, it’s a collection with headliners so impressive as to make still-amazing members like the minty 1966 911 and 1959 718 RSK seem almost pedestrian. It will require an absolutely crazy amount of money, the kind of figures that have many zeros and commas, but if you’re a Porsche fan this could be your shot at a few historic rides unlikely to come up for sale again any time soon.
