Among the 1.7 million additional German vehicles, Audi’s portion numbers 170,000. It had previously recalled only 588 Q5 models from 2015 for defective side airbags. The expansion includes:
• 2006–2013 A3
• 2006–2009 A4 cabriolet
• 2009–2012 Q5
• 2010–2011 A5 cabriolet
• 2009–2014 CC
• 2010–2014 Jetta SportWagen
• 2010–2014 Golf
• 2012–2014 Eos
• 2012–2014 Passat (U.S. production)
• 2006–2010 Passat sedan and wagon (Germany production)
• 2006–2011 3-series sedan and M3
• 2006–2012 3-series wagon
• 2007–2013 3-series and M3 coupe and convertible
• 2007–2010 X3
• 2007–2013 X5 and X5 M
• 2008–2013 1-series coupe and convertible
• 2008–2014 X6 and X6 M
• 2013–2015 X1
Most, if not all, of the above vehicles are under recall only for the driver’s-side frontal airbag. Repair schedules are unavailable at this time. A separate recall involving up to five million cars with faulty Continental airbags is also underway.
