For more than four minutes, the RS3 is depicted shredding the ’Ring’s graffiti-strewn pavement, exhibiting heroically little body roll at full side load and trumpeting a glorious exhaust note through its black oval tailpipes—a distinct RS-ism—that could only belong to a ferocious five-cylinder engine. As we stated in our initial coverage, we expect the RS3 to bring about 400 turbocharged horsepower, shift via a dual-clutch transmission, and feature a performance-tuned Quattro system that can send up to 100 percent of available torque to the rear axle. Watch for it to appear here sometime next year as a 2018 model, shortly after the debut of the facelifted A3.
